Watch out for charity scams

According to The MAD Network founder Doug Anderson, there have been recent attempts to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public by fraudsters posing as charities. He advises that people should double-check credentials before committing their hard-earned cash, such as by calling the charity concerned to check that the fund-raising campaign is legitimate, and to check that the bank account details are correct.
