30 years - three weeks of music

Freshlyground, Simphiwe Dana, Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Gloria Bosman, the Afro Tenor, Drakensberg Boys Choir, Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, the Bala Family, Busi Mhlongo and Jabu Khanyile are joining the festivities in June 2006 as the Market Theatre celebrates 30 years as a cultural venue. Says Market Theatre founder, actor and director John Kani, "What better way to mark this historic moment in our history than with music, that universal language that South Africans love so very much."
