One application, many talk buddies
Internet service provider MWeb last week launched Nimbuzz in South Africa and Africa, a single tool to connect friends who use different instant messaging (IM) programs such as Skype, GTalk, MSN, and Yahoo - all on one platform. The messaging service is for use on both PC and cellphone (models with GPRS or 3G access) and is free and available to both MWeb and non-MWeb subscribers. Nimbuzz currently supports more than 22 cellphone brands and over 500 models and is reportedly used by 6.5 million people around the world.
