Sustain Our Africa kicks off this week - 22 Oct 2012

By Evan-Lee Courie [[@evan1985]]

Sustain Our Africa, a collaborative sustainability communications platform that acts as a catalyst for change, takes place this week from 24-26 October 2012, in Cape Town, South Africa. This is reportedly the first annual sustainability summit where you can hear 50 change agents over three days. I will be attending this three-day summit and will be looking forward to hearing some solutions to the biggest question of all: Can Africa deliver enough for all, forever?

The core of the summit will run over three days, where day one and two focuses on awareness and inspiration for change and day three will be tools for change covered in over 20 different break away changeroom sessions.

In news this week: Studio Universal and the Universal Channel launches in HD, this comes one year after its launch on DStv in Africa. Kenyan filmmaker, Hawa Essuman is awarded funds to develop her film project - titled Djin. Following the arrest of Justice Mponda, an online journalist from the Malawi Voice last week, the Malawian government differs with MISA on the arrest. The finalists of the 2012 All Africa Business Leaders Awards have been announced.and on Friday, 19 October, South Africa celebrated Media Freedom Day.

Cheers to a great week ahead!
