A clean slate for 2014Need a fresh start in 2014? Juliette Attwell answers some questions on whether January is a good time to look for a new job and also clarifies what constitutes valid reasons for leaving your current job. Speaking of employment, Tony O. Elumelu says that Africa needs a 'Marshal Plan', similar to America's 'Marshall Plan' in Europe after World War II, to solve its unemployment crises. Economists expect Africa to create 54 million new jobs by 2020, but 122 million Africans will enter the labour force during that time frame. I would say that's quite a predicament that needs some attention asap... On the mobile front, a Kenyan government official has warned that the country's mobile network operators risk losing their licences if they do not improve services rendered to clients.
