Catch the content wave

Content is currently the word on everybody's lips, with everyone from the existing media to brand owners and individuals being encouraged to become content providers. So if you've if you've been wondering what, when and how to send your content (contributor pieces, general news and press releases) to Bizcommunity, especially now that we're ahead of the curve with more content channels and corresponding newsletters, wonder no further. In news this week, entries for the 2013 CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards are now open. Journalists have until 17 April 2013 to send in their completed entry forms and supporting material. The battle of the smartphones will once again come into play, following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 last week. Young African entrepreneurs are wanted to enter to win the Anzisha Prize. The prize rewards young African entrepreneurs who are making a difference by transforming their communities.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has launched Open Data Platforms for 20 African countries. The Open Data Platform program is part of the AfDB's recently launched "Africa Information Highway" initiative aimed at significantly improving data management and dissemination in Africa.
