Cheers to Africa!WOW! Can you believe that we are officially half way through 2012? Time really does fly when you're having fun! Some of the news and events that took place in the past six months include: - the launch of the West Africa Cable System (WACS) - the fibre optic cable set to meet demand for fast, efficient broadband in Africa, linking Southern and Western Africa to Europe;
- the Loeries expands into Africa with a new category called 'Rest of Africa and the Middle East', which aims to promote work being produced in these regions;
- the fifth anniversary of CNBC Africa;
- plans for the DotAfrica domain name are underway; and
- telecommunications services provider, Airtel continues to make progress across the continent.
