Towards a brighter future![Get your own biz badge](https://biz-file.com/f/1108/Badge.gif) Last week, we at Bizcommunity celebrated 10 years since our very first newsletter was sent out in 2011. I would like to extend a very big thank you from the Biz family for all your well wishes and words of encouragement and for your continued support over the years. We look forward to brightening up your day with industry-related news on the continent for many more years to come. If you managed to take part in our birthday competition, winners have been announced on our Facebook page. Well Done to all of you! If you ever doubted the future of the technological, digital, broadcast and media development on this continent, a number of great things are happening on the continent: Afri-Tech is set to host a Technology & Digital Summit, following a successful internet and digital marketing conference in Nairobi in June. The summit aims to inject the uptake of technology in Africa. Subscribers of the DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access bouquets across sub-Saharan Africa can now watch Nickelodeon, following its launch last week. Those in Namibia can now go and purchase their very own Apple iPad after the Core Group announced that Incredible connection Windhoek will be the first official authorised reseller of the iPad. In Nigeria, TMKG, a specialist out of home media audit company in Nigeria, has won an award for the most outstanding media monitoring company in the outdoor media sector of the advertising industry at the annual 'Brand As King' Awards for its work on Billboard Magazine. Here's to a bright future! [Abey Mokgwatsane] The world is in flux: American politicians have played 'who blinks first' and arrogantly slid the world into economic turmoil; the euro is facing possible collapse; and all indications are that we're heading for another recession before even recovering from the last one. [Corné Krige] It's hard to believe that it is four years since we won our second World Cup in France. So much has happened since then and rugby has changed dramatically. This fact was evident on Saturday when the All Blacks played the last game of the Tri-Nations.
