South African photographer Anton Hammerl, who'd been missing in Libya since 5 April 2011, is presumed dead. According to eyewitnesses, Hammerl was shot on that day by Gaddafi's forces in an extremely remote location in the Libyan desert and his injuries were such that he could not have survived without medical attention. Museveni expressed anger over the outlets' coverage of protests by the opposition over rising fuel prices. In a letter published Tuesday, 17 May 2011, in the state-owned daily New Vision, Museveni accused Al-Jazeera, the BBC, the Kenyan broadcaster NTV, and the local independent Daily Monitor of being supporters of recent opposition protests and "enemies of Uganda's recovery." NAIROBI: Afri-Tech will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 15-18 June 2011. According to the chief executive officer of Afri-Tech Bernard Sanganza, all the speakers have confirmed participation for the meeting which is likely to be attended by Kenya's President Mwai Kibaki. JOHANNESBURG: Independent mobile advertising network InMobi, on tuesday, 17 May 2011, released its latest Africa Regional Insights. These provide a snapshot of mobile advertising trends on the continent between December 2010 and March 2011. Data from the report shows that InMobi now serves over 3.6 billion impressions a month in Africa and that these mobile ad impressions have grown consistently by 3% during the period.
