Final FIFA Kick-off Celebration Concert line-up announced

FIFA and Control Room, on Tuesday, 4 May 2010 announced the final line-up of African and South African artists for the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert. Freshlyground, Hugh Masekela, the Mzansi Youth Choir, the Soweto Gospel Choir, as well as African hip hop artist K'Naan, have been added to the line-up to perform at Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg on the eve of the opening match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. TNM posts loss in the face of subscribers boost

[Gregory Gondwe] Malawi mobile phone service provider TNM Limited has bemoaned increased depreciation charges, which it has attributed to losses posted in the 2008 - 2009 financial year. Islamic banking in Tanzania

Absa has launched Islamic banking in Tanzania through its subsidiary the National Bank of Commerce (NBC), in line with its strategy of expanding its offering in Africa. It will offer the options of a cheque account and saving account with an embedded funeral plan. Christo de Vries, NBC's MD, said this new service is part of its business banking strategy to provide innovative products to meet the needs of the market.
