The role is focused on driving TV sponsorship sales by serving as the primary liaison between Primedia Studios Commercial Sales and our clients. This involves ensuring client satisfaction, proactively addressing their needs, and managing the entire sales process for sponsorship opportunities from initiation to completion. Additionally, the role provides dedicated project management for the execution of all allocated client promotions and sponsorships on air, ensuring seamless delivery and maximising the impact of each campaign. Ultimately, this position contributes to increasing sponsorship sales and maintaining high-standard relationships between our company and its clients. Knowledge of own and client’s brands and products, as well as the broader media industry- To enhance and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the television and video landscape and products represented, as well as, how brands measure up against competitors
- To enhance and maintain knowledge of clients’ brands and products allowing for meaningful conversations and identification of their needs
- To keep up to date with the latest trends and developments in the media industry and update the sales team with discoveries
- To embrace social media and digital innovations and understand how they integrate with media and marketing
Active selling and prospecting for new business- To proactively, and consistently source new clients for our shows
- To evaluate sales prospects and qualify them for their suitability for TV
- To interpret a brief, develop a strategically relevant proposal for clients that has applicable innovative opportunities and present the proposals for review and approval
- To achieve sales targets set by the line manager
Service delivery and professionalism- To negotiate for flexibility taking into account both the clients’ wishes and the win-win outcome for the brands
- To resolve complaints and queries effectively and to do so as far as possible without referral to management and with minimum conflict
- To be readily available and promptly reply to calls/messages whether inside or outside of office hours from internal and external stakeholders
- To ensure that client campaigns are delivered as agreed by working inter-departmentally to achieve their outcomes and communicating timeously with clients on the process and outcome
- To perform admin in the AE back office to provide market intelligence, administrative records and information required internally by managers or peers, and externally for clients, to the end of achieving a successful campaign outcome and execution
- Meet minimum monthly, quarterly and annual set targets
Sponsorships - Project manages several S&P campaigns, by translating contracted sponsorships and promotions into successful, bespoke executions across all platforms, ensuring accuracy and accountability are met
- Closely monitor all campaign activity, both on-air and off-air, from start to finish
- Troubleshoot and find solutions and outcomes for all parties if there is a dispute on any element of the campaign.
- Effective translation and management of the brief for all internal departments
- Key account management during and the post-campaign process
Required- Matric
- Computer Literacy e.g. Windows 2007, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
- Sales Skills, Negotiation and Presentation Skills courses
- Driver’s licence
- Minimum of 2-4 years of TV media sales experience
- CRM, Computer Literacy e.g. Windows 2020, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint etc
- Sponsorship sales in the broadcast sector would be advantageous
- Understand the TV landscape, the metrics used and how they are derived
