A showcase of short films at iMPAC Festival
The iMPAC Festival, an annual short film festival event that provides a platform for the exhibition of African made student media that explores the synergy between sight and sound in the moving image, takes place from 6 October 2011 until Sunday, 9 October 2011, at The Bioscope, the independent cinema, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The programme will include a showcase of locally produced, innovative films that will explore the possibilities of the moving image - from live action to animation and from comic to conceptual; the South African premiere of Egyptian Shadi Abdel Salam's poetic masterpiece, 'Night of Counting the Years', which has been restored by the World Cinema Foundation and a screening of three films by Dutch experimental filmmaker and artist, Gerard Holthuis.
