SA's Securex breaks ground with revolutionary surveillance solutions
Johannesburg - Endorsed by leading industry associations, including the Electronic Security Distributors Association (ESDA) and the Security Association of South Africa (SASA), Securex 2007 opens its doors to high-level visitors at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, South Africa, from June 20 - 22.
The event showcases the latest in security-related equipment and technology and many of the products on show have applications elsewhere in Africa, where barrier protection and surveillance is often the preferred choice over that of comprehensive insurance policies, for instance.
GeoVision, a leader in security surveillance solutions, will be displaying a series of online virtual demonstrations of its intelligent video solution. The intelligent video solution offers coverage of capabilities to automate video analysis and enhance video monitoring.
"It automatically detects, tracks intruders and suspicious objects, integrates cameras and electronic devices, extracts video of human faces, facilitates camera control as well as minimises false alarms. The intelligent video solution saves the time and the associated monitoring cost for human operation," says Riaan van der Merwe, sales manager at GeoVision.
He said the company will also offer a broader range of surveillance options for digital and IP monitoring as it debuts PURE IP Surveillance Software GV IP-4/8/12/16 as well as a new version of Digital/Hybrid Surveillance System at the event.
New developments
"We are excited to make our R&D achievements visible at this year's exhibition. Not only have we developed new IP surveillance products and useful hybrid solutions, GeoVision will also introduce new products, new software features, new access control solutions, enhanced license plate recognition systems, and Windows Vista compatible solutions."
Trinity Telecomms, a leading service provider focusing on the provision and support of end-to-end wireless connectivity solutions into cellular network operators, as well as Radio Frequency for local area wireless connectivity, will be launching the ActiveGuard Guard Touring solution at Securex this year.
"ActiveGuard is an innovative real-time RFID solution for supervising security and services staff work time and routing. Although designed for the security market, it can be used for a host of other applications including services staff, animal and asset tracking, time and attendance, and many more," says William Hardie, Managing Director of Trinity Telecomms.
"This product is ideal for our local security industry, offering personnel tracking functionality, as well as safety features such as a panic button and GSM communication with the control room. With our expertise in both the GSM/GPRS space, as well as radio frequency, Trinity Telecomms is well qualified to implement and support ActiveGuard solutions for the local market."
Securex is the principal business-to-business exhibition for this segment of the industry and is therefore a leading brand. The show is organised by Exhibitions for Africa - Winners of the 'Exhibition of the Year' category for the best Trade Show (6001 - 12000m2) and Best Exhibition Organiser at the Exhibition Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) 2006 Awards.
