    MTN confirms board changes amid Nhleko resignation

    Mobile telecoms company MTN Group advised on Thursday (31 March 2011) that, following his stepping down as group president and CEO, Phuthuma Freedom Nhleko had also tendered his resignation as a director of the board of several MTN subsidiaries.

    These subsidiaries included MTN (Dubai) Limited; Mobile Telephone Networks (MTN SA); MTN Nigeria Communications, Irancell Telecommunications Company (PJSC); and MTN Syria SA.

    The above resignations were with effect from the close of business on Thursday, March 31.

    "The chairman and the board of directors of MTN Group wish to thank Mr Nhleko for the immense contribution to the growth of the company during the past 10 years," the group said.
