New Xerox presses at Africa Print 2010
"Africa Print 2010 is billed as the largest commercial digital print show for the African continent," says Paul Haglich, marketing manager production systems group of the Xerox division at Bytes Document Solutions. "Along with the two new machines, we're going to demonstrate a wide range of our digital production presses at the show together with the software tools and consulting services that constitute the new business of printing. Our intention is to address the challenges facing print providers head on at Africa Print 2010 with the right mix of innovation, proven hardware technology, software and services to assist print-for-pay businesses to grow during these tough times."
The show has confirmed that over 90% of available floor space has been sold, with a line-up of diverse print industry suppliers secured for the event.
Demonstrating the new business of printing
The Bytes Document Solutions Xerox stand plans to highlight customer applications and will showcase what's ahead and available now in dual-engine presses, continuous feed and wide-format hardware and software applications.
"We will be presenting and demonstrating the new business of printing," says Haglich. "This evolving methodology and toolset for printers assists with the deployment of new digital presses alongside the traditional litho equipment and helps adapt their business workflows and processes to generate new revenue streams. Digital printing typically sees a reversal of their traditional processes because printers are now receiving many more smaller jobs that demand quicker turnaround times - with customers often waiting while the job is completed - and smart printers don't want to spend hours preparing material, finishing and delivering jobs that may only take a few minutes to print digitally.
"We also want to show how to be able to take advantage of the virtual storefront that the web offers so print businesses can receive jobs, create and present quotes and offer job-tracking via a web interface without manual intervention and in so doing seamlessly maintain a 24x7 print operation."
