    Recovery or Train-smash doccie to premiere on CNBC Africa

    The European Union project, one of the most ambitious attempts at economic integration, is the third in a series of CNBC Africa documentaries focusing on the fallout of the global financial crisis.

    Titled, Europe: Recovery or Train-smash, the hour-long narrative is presented by financial journalist and CNBC Africa anchor Lindsay Williams and will be broadcast on CNBC Africa at 9PM CAT on Wednesday, 17 April 2013.

    The documentary tackles the pressing matter of the current state and future of the European Union with a focus on Germany and Spain. It features insightful interviews with local and international economists such as Dr Thomas Mayer, chief economist to Deutsche Bank as well as other high ranking financial experts in both the private and public sectors.

    "Our documentaries seek to put into perspective, global issues affecting the African continent and provide solutions to our common problems," said CNBC Africa chief editor, Godfrey Mutizwa.

    "Through these documentaries ABN Pictures seeks to provide thought leadership and draw lessons that can help Africa navigate its way through the current global economic crunch."

    Produced by ABN Pictures, it's the third of four documentaries covering international economic issues and how they affect the African continent. The first two documentaries were Greece: An Economic Odyssey and Debt: A Global Horror Story and explored the Greek economic crisis and the global debt problem respectively. The series is sponsored by Investment Solutions.
