    MTV Africa Music Awards 2010, performers announced

    JOHANNESBURG/LAGOS: Performers at this year's MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) includes Banky W, Fally Ipupa, Teargas and Daddy Owen. The awards takes place on Saturday, 11 December 2010 at the Eko Expo Hall, Lagos, Nigeria.
    MTV Africa Music Awards 2010, performers announced

    R&B artist Banky W is the first Nigerian artist booked to perform at this year's show, while South Africa's Teargas will be representing SA hip hop during their MAMA debut. Kenya's Daddy Owen will be the first gospel singer to perform, showcasing how the genre has made the crossover into the mainstream music consciousness. Congolese musician Fally Ipupa makes his second appearance at MAMA, after his collaboration with Mozambique's Lizha James and Uganda's Blu3 at MAMA 2009 in Kenya.

    The MTV Africa Music Awards was created in 2008 to recognise and reward Africa's contemporary musicians.
