The show will also give viewers tips and advice on patenting their intellectual property.

Features and weekend editor Jill de Villiers says: "We are very excited about this show. It will have a broad-based appeal and will attract viewers from among those who are inventors themselves and need to know the ins and outs of intellectual property rights, to those who are simply interested in the great ideas and inventions of their fellow Africans."

Every week, the show will consist of the following segments:

    • Why didn't I think of that? This looks at every day items in common use: Who invented them? And how did the idea come about?
    • A segment highlighting inventions from Africa, and
    • Legal tips on patents and intellectual property
