    MTV base turns five

    JOHANNESBURG: MTV base is celebrating its fifth birthday today, 22 February 2010, with some changes to the TV channel. Changes will include new graphics, colour palette, and MTV base logo, CGI channel idents and an onscreen content navigation guide.
    MTV base turns five

    MTV base's on-air changes will be complemented by the introduction of two new music shows - African Allstars and MVP: Most Voted Playlist and a new reality series - Eddie Griffin: Going for Broke.

    The channel is also re-launching its MTV base website, offering global music news, artist biogs, gig guides, competitions, and increased viewer interaction, including the options to create your a profile and communicate with MTV fans globally.

    Launched on 22 February 2005, MTV Networks Africa broadcasts 24 hours a day of music, kids and youth entertainment to 90 million viewers in sub-Saharan Africa.
