African showcase at Africa Investment Forum
The forum features, for the first time, large scale participation from investment promotion agencies from across the continent, which will have the opportunity to display projects before an international audience of investment banks and financial institutions. Co-hosting the forum with the CBC will be the Gauteng Economic Development Agency (GEDA), enabling the development of strong linkages with Gauteng as one of South Africa's and Africa's industrial and financial centres.
This year's forum, entitled ‘African Linkages for African Growth,' is focused on strengthening linkages between African economies as a means to promote new investment. It will serve as a platform, bringing together both potential investors and projects in the hope of developing new business partnerships and promoting increased trade and investment.
Aside from acting as a stage for African nations to display their potential as lucrative investment locations, the forum will feature specific discussions on the problems facing Africa and the wider world, including the global financial crisis and Africa, accelerating African investments in Africa and trading in single SADC market. With three heads of state and government already confirmed for the forum, and numerous private sector leaders committed to attending, the forum is considered liable to produce fascinating results, and generate findings and solutions that could be of profound importance to business and government alike for years to come.
