POWER-GEN Africa extend call for papers deadline
The POWER-GEN Africa conference management and Advisory Board have announced an extension to the original deadline, as well as re-confirming that the 2014 conference will once again consist of three tracks running simultaneously. The three-track conference will work under the broad headings of Strategy, Technology and Renewable Energy, each with sub-topics to ensure broad coverage of the industry within sub-Saharan Africa.
POWER-GEN Africa 2014 will feature leading power industry professionals from Africa and around the world who will share their expertise and experiences to help define the Solutions for Africa's Energy Future.
"We have already received some great proposals, but we hope that the new extended abstract submital deadline of 7 June 2013, will enable a few more speakers to submit high-quality proposals covering all topics," said POWER-GEN Africa event director, Nigel Blackaby.
Upon receipt, abstracts will be evaluated by the Advisory Board for potential inclusion in this important industry event. Anyone interested in submitting an abstract or finding out more regarding the topics can visit www.powergenafrica.com.
PennWell International announced earlier this year that it has made the strategic decision to co-locate the POWER-GEN Africa and DistribuTECH Africa exhibitions and conferences. The combined event will take place from 17-19 March 2014 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
By hosting these events concurrently, these two globally renowned energy event brands will present one end-to-end platform designed to address the needs of Africa's energy sector throughout the electricity delivery process, from the generation of electricity in the power station, to its efficient distribution and delivery to the end-user/consumer.
More than 2,100 attendees from 63 countries and six continents attended the inaugural POWER-GEN Africa 2012. The 2014 event is expected to attract larger numbers of the same high-level decision-makers and address key technology and development issues for the sub-Saharan Africa energy marketplace through a comprehensive educational program and three-day exhibition.
