IIR combines HR Africa Summit, Star HRD Expo
The annual HR Africa Summit, organised by the Institute for International Research South Africa (IIR), plans to this year combine with its newly purchased Star HRD Expo. The Star HR Summit and Expo (incorporating HRDE), will run at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa from 5 - 8 October 2010.
“It offers HR practitioners in South Africa an opportunity to share in the best African practice with top speakers and delegates from the continent,” states Dr Mark Bussin, chairperson of 21st Century Pay Solutions, a sponsor and exhibitor. “I see this as a competitive niche expo selling solutions for Africa by Africans.”
Stuart Griesbach, group manager at Human Capital Centre of Excellence for Mutual & Federal, and a speaker adds, “It offers an excellent level of integration as I feel there are too many HR events. This is a cornerstone event and last year in my session, a full 20% of delegates were from African states. This is a truly continent-wide event and I am looking forward to the expo.”
Exhibition offerings
This year's exhibition will include new initiatives including an e-Learning Zone, education and supplies, training and simulation products, as well as demonstrations.
The organisers are discussing new initiatives in conjunction with government agencies that will further highlight and focus attention on Africa's most important area of development.
“Bringing together these two major HR events will provide everyone involved in HR, education and training, irrespective of their level, with a wonderful opportunity to take part and get a hands-on look into the new initiatives, solutions and ideas that are driving their industry.
