    Celebrating Africa hosted in 2010

    Celebrating Africa hosted in 2010

Celebrating Africa has been officially endorsed by FIFA's LOC as a 2010 World Cup legacy project, making both the South African government and the African Diplomatic Corps the principal stakeholders of the project. The project is also supported by the Department of International Relations and Co-operation (former department of Foreign Affairs) and the Government Communications and Information Systems.

Celebrating Africa plans to feature a presentation of African history and culture with a display of food, fashion, art, music, literature, comedy, dance and film to be drawn from various parts of the continent. The event will also host a virtual pilgrimage of the African continent.

The event plans to provide a networking platform with decision-makers in government as well as members of the African Diplomatic Corps. Organisers anticipate an audience of around 35,000 people in the higher LSM markets as well as visitors to the country during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

There are six sponsorship opportunities open to brands.
