    2009 Ai Index Series Awards nominations open

    JOHANNESBURG: Africa investor (Ai), an international investment research and communication group, yesterday, 18 June 2009 announced the call for nominations for the 2009 Africa investor Index Series Awards. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange, on 21 September 2009 in New York, USA.

    The awards will run in conjunction with the Africa investor Index Series Summit and recognises Africa's best performing stock exchanges, listed companies, investment banks, research teams, regulators, socially responsible companies and fund managers.

    Commenting on the awards, 2008 Best Africa Research Team winner Renaissance Capital said, “The Africa investor series awards are quickly becoming the industry benchmark for business and finance on the continent. The awards are unique in that they are independent and objective, truly pan-African and take into consideration the views of a wide range of parties including investors, corporate and government officials”.

    Some of the 2009 Awards categories include: Most Innovative African Stock Exchange, Best Africa Investment Bank, Best Africa Research Team, Most Innovative Capital Markets Regulator, Best Broker in Africa, Best Africa Fund Manager, Best African IPO, Best Performing Africa investor 100 company, Best Performing Africa investor 40 company, Best Performing Africa investor Sri50 company, Best Performing Africa investor Sri30 company, Africa investor Capital Market Personality of the Year.

    The 2009 Index Series Awards Master of Ceremonies, Carol Pineau, journalist and award-winning filmmaker, USA, said, “The Africa investor Series Summit and Awards at the NYSE successfully attracts high-level participation as it offers an ideal opportunity for international investors and leaders of African Capital markets to discuss investment partnerships”.
