Business In Africa titles relaunched
Ben Hewitt, Business In Africa managing editor says that although quick to champion Africa's positive elements, the Business In Africa titles will be realistic in highlighting barriers to progress in Africa and drawing attention to issues that could have been tackled more effectively.
“Africa has opened up for business in a way never seen before. Business is being done the African way, for the benefit of African people. The new Business In Africa magazine and website will reflect the opportunities that are here, right now, as opposed to constant coverage of the negative side of Africa - corruption, disaster zones and ‘hopes for tomorrow'. The international media has long been in a rut with African reporting and we plan to highlight the other, successful side of the African story,” Hewitt adds further.
Business In Africa hopes to shift emphasis from Africa's historical ‘aid stigma' to one that promotes ‘Traid' - commerce which supports and encourages appropriate, sustainable aid by covering aspects of the African economy, with a focus on the work of social entrepreneurs who are creating new, sustainable ways of living and earning an income.
