    APO partner with Baharicom

African Press Organisation (APO), the Africa-related press release distributor, has signed a partnership agreement with Baharicom Development Company, co-builder of the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) cable, for media relations services in support of the Baharicom Philanthropic program.

Through an agreement with the APO, Baharicom Philanthropic press releases will be made available simultaneously on the online database of press releases related to Africa on www.apo-opa.org, www.prnewswire.com, www.lexisnexis.com, www.afrik.com, and will be disseminated by targeted emailing to a media database of 21,000 journalists in 53 African countries, as well as 3000 media professionals who actively follow ICTs in Africa. APO will also provide two virtual press conferences and arrange one interview with an international media outlet.

    Africa philanthropic programme

"The ACE cable will be a key driver of Africa's social and economic growth. As co-builder of the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) cable, Baharicom will implement a philanthropic program dedicated to Africa. We are proud and honored to be part of the strategic communication of Baharicom Development Company," says Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, APO's Franco-Gabonese general secretary.

In its planned configuration, the 17,000 km-long fibre optic cable stretching from France to South Africa will be operational in the first half of 2012. It will connect 23 countries.
