A24 Media chairman scoops up awards
During the recently concluded international media summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, A24 Media chairman Salim Amin received the African Achievers Award. He thanked the hosts of the ceremony, saying “this is a great honour for me, as it acknowledges the hard work that the team at A24 Media is doing to transform perceptions of Africa in the international arena by enabling Africans to tell their stories their way on an international platform.”
Amin was also last week accorded both the International Dean's Award and the Kappa Tau Alpha Outstanding Service Award for the Will Owen Jones chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The award ceremonies recognise those who have excelled in the field of journalism. Speaking after receiving the award, Amin remarked “I'm delighted to accept this award on behalf of A24 Media. It is not only a great encouragement in our drive to tell the African story but also a powerful indication that the world is listening and is hungry for the stories we are offering. Africa is news, whether you're in Nebraska or Nairobi, and we are here to get that news out to the people who seek a more rounded, authentic view of the continent.”
