Placing the right people in the right job

Accsys, a South African provider of HR and payroll management solutions, first established its HR/payroll industry-focused recruitment division called Accsys PeoplePlace four months ago. Since then this extension to the business has made a significant impact on the market says Andiswe Mjali, Recruitment Division Manager.

As its name suggests Accsys PeoplePlace was organized to help place the right people in the right positions at the right companies. Its core objective is to alleviate the challenges faced by both job seekers and prospective employers in HR and payroll.

Challenges include a misperception or lack of insight into positions, a distorted impression of tasks and/or responsibilities, false or unbalanced expectations, incorrect information, non-credible or unscrupulous operators, amongst others.

According to Mjali, the market on which the division is focused has never needed a recruitment service more than it does now.

“These industries do need more skills – few would argue with that point. Recent industrial and labour action coupled with increasing operational costs is placing a great deal of pressure on businesses. Often decision makers do not have the time to invest in recruitment and the result is a poor match that is of no value to either party,” adds Mjali.

“But both payroll and human resource are time consuming, meticulous and deadline-driven professions and the fact of the matter is that not every person hoping to enter the industry is cut out for this type of position. Our job is to provide a screening service to clients and, through a well structured information gathering and interview process, identify the best possible candidate.”

So what does the division do that other recruitment services do not?

Mjali points out that, aside from the fact that they operate directly in the HR and payroll market and its core service is based on extracting value from software integration to enhance operations, its understanding of people in these environments gives it an edge over competitors.

“The division forms a natural part of the entire company. In a sense we have gone full circle – from the development, introduction and service to clients on technology to training and skills development on products to actually assisting clients in placing the right people in front of these same systems. All areas of service complement each other and means we are in a position to offer clients a credible service and practical advice,” she adds.
