Lindi Engelbrecht, chief executive of the Institute of Directors (IoD), will be one of the keynote speakers at the 2009 IABC Africa conference to be held 8 - 9 October 2009 at Kievits Kroon Country Estate and Spa, Gauteng, South Africa. She will discuss the impact of the King Report III on the communication profession and the fundamentals around engaging stakeholders and the consequent business impact.
King Report III discussed at 2009 IABC conference

The recent King Report III on Corporate Governance has a chapter dedicated to the role of stakeholder relationship management, promoting the importance of two-way communication between an organisation and its various stakeholders.
The report apparently proves that there are strong expectations from senior management with regards to the role of corporate communication and the need for it to managed strategically from the boardroom.

This year's IABC Africa conference theme is "Engaging Stakeholders - Right Message. Right Audience. Right Medium." and will feature a line-up of speakers providing insight into global communication strategies.

Daniel Munslow, an IABC Africa board member who judged the 2009 IABC's Gold Quills Blue Ribbon Panel in San Francisco earlier this year, is the conference MC.

For more information on the conference, or to obtain a registration form to attend the IABC Annual National Conference, send an email to or call her on tel: +27 (0) 82 377 5554.
