    MapIT launches updated MarketScope

MapIT has released an updated version of MarketScope, its location-based business intelligence application, into the local market. The new version has a new look and feel, new functions and enhanced multiple database querying capabilities.

"First impressions count," says Etienne Louw, MD of MapIT, "MarketScope V3 catches your immediate attention because it is simple to use and delivers results quickly. We've simplified the graphic user interface with easily identifiable 'user' tabs at the top of the screen. Consequently, the process of querying data is logical, clean and simple. Version 3 is markedly faster and more efficient than earlier versions."

MarketScope is a desktop, laptop or server-linked geo-spatial app that works off Microsoft enterprise .Net and SQL Server technology.

    Available in Africa

MarketScope V3 is available with South Africa, Southern Africa and other African country versions and in the near future MapIT plans to include options for international map data. The new version can analyse and graphically depict commercial and demographic activities in South Africa and other African countries where demographic or geo-marketing data is available.

Apart from geo-coding and validating address data, the four-module application imports, integrates and overlays proprietary company information - customer, store, supplier and logistical data and third-party demographic research - onto a digital map for analysis and display in a geo-spatial context.

    Virtual replication of reality

"It offers a comprehensive geo-spatial snapshot of a company's operational activities in the market place. It's a virtual replication of reality," says Louw, referring to MarketScope's enhanced ability to query complex data in an easily readable graphic format.

"Version 3's main strength is its ability to give simple answers to complex geo-spatial queries."

Louw continues, "Work has already started on the next version of MarketScope, which will incorporate the company strategy of consolidating all its solution architectures to offer clients a seamless experience across desktop, web and mobile. We are very excited about this development and look forward to a big year in 2011 where we will work with strategic partners to bring innovative spatial solutions to both Africa and selective parts of the rest of the world."
