Sahara, Alcatel-Lucent form partnership
Established in 1997, Sahara Computers is part of Sahara Holdings which has consolidated its position as a front-runner within the realm of empowered ICT organisations by the signing of a R640 million broad-based partnership in 2006. As part of its expansion strategy, Sahara Computers was interested in partnering with a telecommunications leader for turnkey deployment of state-of-the-art technologies.
“The partnership between our companies is recognition of Sahara's aggressive approach towards expansion and positioning towards value added distribution. The partnership will certainly create opportunities within the unified communications solutions and services market. In addition, we have appointed a specialised team that will promote and market efficient supply of IPT/DATA solutions to end customers via our channel,” commented Atul Gupta, chairman and managing director of Sahara Computers.
“Joining forces with Sahara Computers reinforces Alcatel-Lucent's strategy to expand its footprint in the S&E African IP networking market and demonstrates its capabilities to deploy cutting-edge solutions with the converged communications space” said Ravin Naidu, regional director of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Solutions Division for Southern and Eastern Africa.
