Conference to tackle issues facing women in media
According to a recent report by the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF), it was revealed that women represent only 33.3% of full-time journalism work force in 522 companies surveyed globally. It also shows that in North Africa and the Middle East women are greatly marginalised in the media sector, with only slight differences in some countries. In Sub-Saharan Africa women account for between, 15% to 27% of media jobs and in some countries men outnumber women by as much as 2:1.
