    Line-up announced for Africa Unites at Moshito 2011

    Nigerian artist Asa will head the line-up of African artists for the upcoming Africa Unites concert, which is a feature of the Joburg Arts Alive International Festival, taking place from 1 - 25 September 2011 at the Sci-Bono Centre in Newtown precinct, Johannesburg in partnership with the Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition.

    Over the past few years, Lagos-born Asa has gained popularity for her eclectic fusion of pop, R&B, reggae, funk, soul and world music. She will be head to South Africa following performances at Back2Black, an African roots, music and cultural heritage festival that takes place in Brazil.

    Eric Wainaina grew up with a multitude of musical influences, including songs sung in Kikuyu, and the result is a musical style that's gained the former 5 Alive band member fans globally. Wainaina's records include his first solo album Sawa, Sawa, as well as his latest Twende, Twende featuring a collaboration with Zimbabwean musician, Oliver `mtukudzi.

    Nkulee Dube is the daughter of the late Lucky Dube, but is not letting the pressure of following in her father's gigantic footsteps put her off from fulfilling the musical promise she's shown since a young age. Signed to Joburg-based Native Rhythms, Nkulee's album My Way is earning this young artist a devoted following for her fusion of ethno-soul, jazz and ethno-reggae.

    The live concert will take place on 2 September 2011 at the Bassline with tickets costing just R100 and are available at Computicket.
