    Molefe elected VP, Commonwealth Broadcasting Association

    JOHANNESBURG: The SABC announced on Wednesday, 21 April 2010, the election of Phil Molefe, SABC's acting group executive of news and current affairs as VP of the commonwealth Broadcasting Association during the 28th CBA General Conference, hosted by the SABC at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa.

    "Its an honour to the SABC and it is also a task that we intend to carry out with distinction," said Molefe.

    Ken Clark of Media Niugini of Papa New Guinea, was also elected VP and GM of international relations of Hum TV and Moneeza Hashmi, from Pakistan, was elected the president of the CBA.

    The following members of the CBA were elected to the new executive committee:

    • Thivyananden Nayedoo Sooben (MBC-Mauritius)
    • Umbi Karuaihe-Upi (NBC-Namibia)
    • William Ampem-Darko (Ghana Broadcasting Corporation)
    • K V L Narayan Rao (NDTV)
    • David Waweru (KBC-Kenya)
    • Lenny Shoulder (STA-Swaziland)
    • Mano Wikramamanayake (MTV- Sri Lanka)
    • Kay Osborne (TV Jamaica)
