EC to host African press video conference
The Directorate General for Development of the European Commission confirmed on Friday, 13 March its interest to have the African Press Organisation (APO) organise six press video conferences related to Africa. The African Press Organisation is a partner of PressVideoconference.
PressVideoconference allows international press conferences, via videoconference, over the Internet.
Journalists may participate in an international press conference from a computer connected to the Internet and ask questions to receive direct answers from their interlocutor.
In February 2009, the secretary-general of the African Press Organisation (APO), Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, has declared that his non-profit organisation has anticipated a worldwide increase in the organisation of press video conferences, particularly because of the international crisis that has constrained journalists in terms of time and expenses.
