2010 airports expansion gets critical IT support
Working closely with IT solution provider, NetSpeed Technologies, ACSA has selected Entuity's Eye of the Storm (EYE) to manage its expanding IT network. In partnership with ACSA, NetSpeed will provide services and technical expertise deploying EYE so that ACSA can maximise its IT infrastructure. "EYE has assisted ACSA IT to have insight into network performance and availability to a level that has never been possible for us. Proactive problem resolution is now greatly enhanced due to this insight as well as using the excellent features within EYE," states Werick Venter, IT Infrastructure manager at ACSA.
ACSA supports over 98% of the country's commercial air traffic and this continued growth and reliance on state-of-the-art technologies has put additional burdens on ACSA's IT infrastructure. EYE delivers the visibility to proactively manage and optimise its IT network to ensure reliability.
"ACSA is tasked with managing the aviation infrastructure of South Africa and with Eye of the Storm monitoring our IT infrastructure, we can continue developing world-class, secure and safe airport experiences for our customers," Venter explains. "The complex services that operate our airports demand 24/7 network access. Because of the initial success on the LAN infrastructure, EYE will be expanded to include other infrastructure components such as servers monitoring, Firewall, VMware, etc. Our local Entuity partner, NetSpeed Technologies has helped us maximise our EYE deployment with their professionalism and outstanding technical expertise. We look forward to the future with our network foundation solidly in place to support ACSA's entire business."
Julian Renecke, director of Netspeed Technologies said of ACSA's decision: "ACSA has taken full advantage of EYE's expansive functionalities. There's so much more to it - EYE's added value delivers specialised management capabilities with its customisable modules for NetFlow, Wireless, QoS, SLA, etc. ACSA has been able to easily add new technologies and achieve more exacting ways to manage their complex network through these add-on EYE modules."
