    Twenty Ten applications open for African journalists

    Twenty Ten is a project for professional print journalists, photojournalists and radio journalists of African nationality and currently living in Africa. It aims to encourage media professionals to creatively produce and distribute articles, images, broadcasts and multimedia productions related to African football.
    Twenty Ten applications open for African journalists

    Through the website, African journalists can apply to become a participant of Twenty Ten. A total of 108 participants will be selected, by an independent professional commission, at the end of May. This group will be known as the "All Stars". At the end of 2009, a select few of the "All Stars" will qualify to become part of the "Dream Team" that will travel to South Africa during the World Cup in 2010 to report on the event.

    African media will be encouraged to publish the created content free of charge.

    Who can apply?

    The following criteria must be met:


    • You must have a press card and/or
    • your work has been published regularly in the print media or broadcast on radio stations during the past two years and/or
    • your work has been exhibited or has been published in a book during the previous four years.

    If you are employed, you will need to forward a signed letter from your employer granting you permission to participate in the program. A standard letter explaining the program to your editor in chief is available if you choose to register. Download letter.

    The deadline to register and receive a username and password is 4 May, 2009. The deadline to submit an application is 7 May, 2009.
