Ogilvy & Mather and Text 100 win Transtel account

Ogilvy & Mather has been awarded the Transtel account. Text 100, a global public relations company, partnered with Ogilvy and Mather for the Transtel pitch and has been awarded the public relations element of the marketing campaign.

The above and below the line campaign will focus on raising awareness of the Transtel brand. The campaign will also position Transtel as the largest full-service private telecommunications network in South Africa in the build up to the awarding of the New Network Operator (NNO) license later this year.

"This is an exciting time for the local telecommunications industry and with the NNO license being awarded in the near future, it is the perfect time to aggressively launch the Transtel brand into the market," says Nunu Ntshingila, chairperson of Ogilvy and Mather Johannesburg. "We will use Ogilvy and Mather’s 360 degree brand stewardship approach to ensure that all elements of the marketing mix from promotions to print to PR are held under one strategy, guaranteeing that a consistent message is communicated to the market."

Mkhululi Palane, marketing executive for Transtel says, "Transtel is going through exciting and challenging times and we need an agency that will be a strategic business partner to assist us in moving the Transtel brand into the future. Ogilvy and Mather proved to be the finest creative and strategic agency in South Africa and we believe that with its experience in handling brands in the telecommunications industry, Ogilvy and Mather will add a great deal of value to the Transtel brand."
