Wise-Ways Advertising, a Benoni based agency, in partnership with Varder Hulsbosch, has been appointed by Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality to develop an above-the-line campaign that will define and communicate the importance of the Ekurhuleni region to businesses and residents – both existing and potential. The campaign was won in a five-way pitch.
The Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality is situated in South Africa's manufacturing heartland. It is a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse region with over 2.5 million residents. The area has 8 000 industries and is responsible for about 23 percent of the gross geographical product of Gauteng province, sub-Saharan Africa's most economically powerful region.
The municipality is comprised of nine towns of the former East Rand: Alberton, Benoni, Germiston, Springs, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Nigel, Brakpan and Boksburg.
From the world's largest producer of gold a century ago, the geographical area known as the East Rand has become a globally competitive industrial and manufacturing region.
