Dave Chislett Publicity is very pleased to announce another new music account for 2005. South Africa's premier battle of the bands competition for new bands of all genres, The Emerging Sounds Competition, has signed up with Dave Chislett Publicity for this year's competition.
The Emerging Sounds competition has been running for seven consecutive years and is growing each year in impact and reputation. Responsible for unearthing among others, Seether (then Saron Gas) 340ml and Tweak, the competition is a great training ground in industry procedures for new bands, as well as an excellent showcase for new talent.
"We wanted to take the competition to new heights this year," explains competition organiser Simon "Squire" Foulds, "And seeing as we have gone national for the 2005 competition, it made sense to sign up an experienced and connected media liaison to keep our profile high."
Kicking off in March this year, the Emerging sounds competition will run until October, with a full national final taking place at Circus Maximus at Caesar's Palace. "Since the arrival of the Global Battle Of The Bands competition last year," continues Foulds, "The role of the Emerging Sounds competition has definitely increased. We are now a tried and tested proving ground for bands wanting to take on the best in the world. Anyone making through the Emerging Sounds learning curve and work ethic will be well equipped to take on the Global battle as well."
The competition starts next month and there is guaranteed to be action, with bands from across the country and across all genres competing for top honours, including the opportunity to record an album in a professional studio with RP Studios and to be seen by the top music critics and industry professionals in South Africa.
